about
This is a capsulization of expeditions in musical spheres surrounding and emerging from a friendship.
It contains a mixture of live played and generated music.
The live played pieces are improvisations, with no pre-defined
structures, by 3 musicians playing traditional instruments (Bass, Guitar, Drums) featuring signal manipulation done using tools such as Pure Data, PLXTRM (www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/09298215.2017.1288747), Axoloti....
The other parts, in contrast to these improvisations, are generated with human interactions, through interfaced parameters on a higher level. They reflect perspectives on the meaning of the improvisations, by means of their retrospective algorithmic history. At the basis of these pieces of music lie Hans Heymans' "Algorithms With a Heart", so named because they are based on experiences as a musician, in a process similar to making a music box. They can be conceived as projections of a single holo-movement, determined by the parameters that make up a particular composition. The path of the music is guided by the so called Bohmian pilot wave a.k.a. the holo-movement, based on these parameters. The music pieces are projections of the holo-movenent of the parameters. This creates the illusion of interaction similar to the interactions in a Leibnizian universe.
